Pinecone Tournament Update

On Friday our teams participated in the Pinecone League Tournament. Our boys took on Madison; they played well but came up short losing 24-57. Our girls had a very close game with Athens but ultimately fell 39-37 on a last second shot. We were also honored with two all-stars from each of our teams: Lillian Coleman, Avery Rancourt, Ashton Feliberty, and James Scrivner. Don't forget that the middle school basketball season will wrap up on 2/23rd with the parent game and awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will start at 5 PM, followed by the parents' games, and the night will conclude with our pizza dinner.

Winter Sports

The winter sports season officially begins today. Remember all paperwork must be received by coaches, or the front office, before any athlete participates. There have been some slight changes to our schedules since I posted last, the main one being that there is no varsity boys program for North Haven this year. Right now, I have not found an opponent to replace them on the schedule for the boys, but I have been working on this since the news broke. If you click on the link you will find updated schedules. TESTING

Formative achievement tests will be given to students in grades K – 10th grade in the Fall, Winter and Spring.  Individual achievement, intelligence, and/or aptitude tests are given by the special education personnel upon written parental permission. You are entitled to and will be given the results of all tests given to your child. Don’t hesitate to ask for a full explanation of the results if one has not been given to your satisfaction. Remember that the major purpose of testing is to measure and improve student learning.

RSU 82 utilizes all assessment data to help inform our practices at the district, school, classroom and individual levels for our students.  Although we encourage students and parents to participate fully in our assessment program, it is important to note that parents/guardians may opt their child out of state testing.  If you are interested in doing so, please reach out to Mr. Lacasse to make this request in writing.
